What is Inkling 2 Small?

Inkling 2 Small is the second-generation model from Thinking Machines Lab: a sparse MoE with 594B total parameters (17B active) that accepts text and image inputs. It was trained with a single unified RL run and supports up to 1M context. The model launches on Tinker with closed weights and an Apache 2.0 weights release planned after external safety testing; it shows gains on agentic coding, vision, and long-horizon tasks versus the prior Inkling generation.
