About this release
pplx-decider-v1.2 is Perplexity's 27B-parameter multimodal decision model (fine-tuned from Qwen3.8-27B) that accepts text and images and returns typed answers with probabilities—yes/no, choice from options, or score on a rubric—instead of generating text. It powers the Decisions API (also with a 4B flash variant) and ships with open Apache 2.0 weights on Hugging Face. The model was launched October 1 2026 alongside the API at $0.02 per million input tokens.
